OPINION:
Blue-state and -city governors and mayors say U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement is the fascist, masked enemy of the people. They enact laws forbidding their police forces from aiding ICE in any way as they carry out the law.
That’s right: ICE is carrying out the law by arresting illegals who have committed crimes in addition to being in the U.S. without the proper paperwork and vetting. The rhetoric is volatile and incites the overly emotional political left to commit violent acts. Exactly that happened last week in Texas at an ICE facility, with the gunning down of the very people the left claims to support.
Whipping up the emotions of the weak-minded is no different from planting a bomb in a public park; both kill indiscriminately. The left wants the unmasking of ICE agents simply so they can better identify their targets.
We all need to demand that Congress and the governors of blue states stop vilifying ICE agents and tone down the rhetoric.
