Another Washington Commander joined the injury list on Tuesday: wide receiver Terry McLaurin, nursing a quad injury suffered in Sunday’s win over the Las Vegas Raiders.
McLaurin is “uncertain to play” in the Commanders’ upcoming game against the Falcons in Atlanta, according to a report from ESPN.
The star receiver, who turned 30 this month, appeared to pull his quad in the second half of Sunday’s 41-24 win after catching a 56-yard pass from Marcus Mariota. McLaurin didn’t return to the game.
Though McLaurin didn’t play another down, he sprinted down the field to grab fellow receiver Luke McCaffrey’s first career touchdown ball in the fourth quarter. McCaffrey had dropped the souvenir as he dived into the stands to celebrate.
Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Monday that he’d provide updates about his injured players — including McLaurin and quarterback Jayden Daniels — ahead of Wednesday’s practice.
McLaurin signed a three-year, $87 million contract extension last month after missing training camp due to the negotiations.
