President Trump’s visit to Great Britain featured the largest military ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle for a state visit to the country as the U.K. rolls out the red carpet.

U.K. officials said 120 horses and 1,300 troops from the British army, navy, marines and air force took part in Wednesday’s ceremony, with Mr. Trump having the rare honor of inspecting the honor guard at the castle outside of London.

The ceremony would have featured a flyover with British and American F-35s, but it was canceled due to inclement weather, according to the British Forces Broadcasting Service.

“Following the announcement in June that the RAF will receive 12 new F-35A aircraft, it marks a glimpse into the future for the U.K.,” the service reported.

Also during Mr. Trump’s three-day visit, a U.S. military band is scheduled to perform at a changing of the guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace for the first time in history, U.K. officials said.

Britain displayed the pomp and circumstance for Mr. Trump soon after Air Force One landed at London’s Stansted Airport. Royal Air Force personnel from the King’s Color Squadron provided a welcoming line for the president and first lady Melania Trump.

“Aviators — all new recruits — from RAF Halton will line the route for the president as he arrives at Chequers on Thursday,” the BFBS reported.

Chequers is the prime minister’s official country residence, 40 miles northwest of London.
