Fifty-three percent of young voters in a new survey said they want a socialist president in the White House in 2028. This is worrisome, to say the least.
If the foundation of American Exceptionalism is the idea that rights and liberties for the individual come from God, then a nation that believes in socialism — which is to say communism — stands in direct conflict with that. It’s either God-given or government-granted.
It’s either free market and individualism — or government-controlled and collectivism.
So what’s going on with the youth?
“Socialism still seems to have quite a … bit of romance about it among younger Americans,” said Jim Lakely, vice president of Heartland Institute, the organization that conducted the survey with Rasmussen.
Additionally, he said, “76 percent say they somewhat or strongly agree that industries like health care, energy, Big Tech, should be nationalized. … it’s absurd, troubling.”
