I endorse Republican candidate Winsome Earle-Sears for the office of governor of Virginia. The experience she would bring as a great former Salvation Army homeless shelter director and former member of the Virginia House of Delegates makes her a formidable candidate for the governor’s office.

In 2021, while Democrat Justin Fairfax served as lieutenant governor, she was elected to the position, becoming the first woman to hold the office in the commonwealth of Virginia.

The gubernatorial race between Ms. Earle-Sears and Abigail Spanberger marks the first time in Virginia’s history that a Democratic woman and a Republican woman run against each other for the office of governor.

Ms. Earle-Sears brings a clear Republican objective to governance in Virginia, and being a supporter of President Trump, she would carry on the policies of the outgoing, charismatic Gov. Glenn Youngkin, who is barred from seeking a second term.

In Virginia’s history, Ms. Earle-Sears joins Mr. Fairfax and former Gov. L. Douglas Wilder as the highest-ranked Black politicians in the history of the state. If she is elected, she will be the second Black governor of Virginia.

So I support candidate Winsome Earle-Sears for the office of governor of the commonwealth of Virginia.
