California’s leading Democrat candidate for governor, Katie Porter, exited an interview, stage right, with a CBS News reporter because she didn’t like the questions she was being asked, even though they were the same questions asked of all the other candidates.

Petulant, petty and arrogant — as Democrats go, Porter just took the lead.

The question: “What do you say to the 40 percent of California voters, who you’ll need in order to win, who voted for Trump?”

The answer, from Porter: “How would I need them in order to win, ma’am?”

In other words, who needs the Trump voters? The Trump voters don’t count.

There was more back and forth. There were more questions — questions Porter took as offenses and affronts — as “unnecessarily argumentative” questions, she said. And finally, she had enough.

“I don’t want to keep doing this,” Porter finally said. “I’m going to call it. Thank you.” Why? Porter refused to do an interview with “seven follow-ups to every question,” as she described.

Porter was in the lead as the Democrats’ contender for governor.

But wait for it, wait for it.

“Katie Porter’s Outburst with CBS News’ Julie Watts Shocks Calif. Governor Race,” People.com wrote.

And that was just the beginning.

“‘Get out of my f—-ing shot’: Katie Porter tears into staffer in newly released video,” Politico wrote.

“The Ugliness Inside of Katie Porter,” National Review wrote.

Politico leans left; National Review leans right. Porter is pulling dislike from across the political aisles.

Rightly so.

Candidates for political office ought to realize that, outside of the hatchet-holders who are simply abusing their position to advance a personal agenda, the journalists who ask them questions are simply serving the public’s good. MAGA President Trump has a good reason to avoid members of the media. He’s been enemy No. 1 for years by a hate-filled press that takes marching orders from the Marxists in the Democrat Party and that dutifully parrots the DNC’s bullet points with intent to destroy the GOP, destroy this White House, destroy Trump, Trump’s family and Trump’s supporters.

Democrat Porter hasn’t faced the same fire — nor would she because she’s a Democrat and so, too, most in the media.

So her flight from a CBS journalist isn’t based on any sort of righteous indignation over unwarranted and biased questioning but rather a show of cowardice and arrogance. She didn’t think she had to answer the questions because she didn’t think the questions were suitable for someone of her stature to be asked.

That’s called a superiority complex, and it’s an affliction that seems to permeate the world of Democrat politicians.
