A driver escaped without arrest after a police chase Tuesday that began on Connecticut Avenue in the District and ended in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland.
The U.S. Park Police initiated the chase on Connecticut Avenue after the driver did not pull over for a traffic stop, the U.S. Park Police told Washington-area TV station WJLA-TV. The officers involved called for help and also got help from a Metropolitan Police Department helicopter.
Flight data for the helicopter on FlightAware shows the chase left the District, continued north up U.S. Interstate 270 as far as Middlebrook Road in Germantown, Maryland, and then doubled back.
From there, the chase continued back towards the District on the Capital Beltway onto U.S. Highway 50 until it split at U.S. 301 on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, per the FlightAware data.
The chase ended at about 7:30 p.m., officials told WJLA-TV. No one was injured during the chase and no arrests have been made in the case.
