Lt. Gov. Winsome Earle-Sears’ campaign for governor is catching fire — literally.
She confirmed the incident on X, stating, “While en route to an event, our campaign bus caught fire.”
She added, “Everyone is safe. Thank you to the first responders who got to the scene quickly — we are so grateful for you.”
Photos circulating online show flames engulfing part of the bus, alongside the image of Ms. Earle-Sears.
She was traveling around the state on her “Commonsense Not Nonsense” bus tour on Thursday, with stops penciled in for Fredericksburg and Harrisonburg.
The Republican is trailing Democrat Abigail Spanberger in the polls in the race as they both barnstorm the state in the final days of the campaign.
Election Day is Tuesday.
