Once upon a time, it used to be a given that America’s public schools taught the next generation of leaders — the students — why this country is so great and what makes it so different from all others. Not so any longer. And that’s a big reason for the rise in the acceptance of socialism among America’s youth.
If we want a country of citizens who not only love America, but also love American liberty and know how to preserve individual liberties, then schools must teach proper, truthful U.S. history and civics.
Thankfully, under President Donald Trump, the schools will start teaching just that once again.
“We’ve partnered with the Department of Education and 40 national civics groups to launch the America250 Civics Education Coalition,” said Erika Donalds, chair of Education Opportunity at America First Policy Institute.
“Americans do not know enough about our history and you can’t love America if you don’t know America — but if you know America, you love America,” she said.
Truth.
