Polls for New York City’s mayoral contest are generally showing socialist Zohran Mamdani in the lead. And whether or not these polls are off by a couple percentage points, or by double-digit percentage points, doesn’t change the fact that any open socialist running for political office in America is a tragedy.

They just don’t belong in U.S. government.

There’s not a socialist politician in the world who can honestly pledge to uphold the Constitution while remaining true to socialism.

One honors and protects God-given rights and liberties and preserves individualism; the other, protects the state at all costs and only considers individuals important to advancing the good of the collective — and left unstated, to enriching the pockets of the select and elite few.

Mamdani is one of those self-appointed select and elite few.

Like all socialists, Mamdani talks a good game. His narrative is filled with juicy promises to bridge gaps between haves and have-nots, and with lofty talking points that strike at the core of human suffering. Can’t quite make ends meet to pay rent and buy prescription medicines and send your kid to college? It’s the corporate world’s fault. It’s the Republicans’ fault. It’s the White people’s fault. It’s President Trump’s fault. It’s the “anybody but you” fault.

Divide and conquer is the socialist game.

Divide society into small groups, then turn and pit these groups against each other; then swoop in with a political promise to fix what ails the groups. It’s always the low-information voters who grab ahold of socialist messaging — the low-information types and the lazy, irresponsible and unambitious types. Socialism has never worked as the socialists promise it will work. When the government attempts to control production and distribution and pretends to be the ‘Great Equalizer’ of society, it’s always the producers who get the short end of the deal. Never mind history; that’s just common sense.

Who wants to work hard only to see the rewards of hard work stripped and sent to those who don’t want to work at all?

The system crumbles on itself. And shortly after, chaos comes — but not for the political elites. Right? The Zohran Mamdanis of the world all rise to political power on promises of equality and fairness and justice for all — promises they know cannot be fulfilled. But even during the inevitable collapse, they continue to cast blame at others, and because their base of supporters are all ignorant of truthful history, and only respond to political topics in emotional ways based on their wants and needs of the day, these socialists — these Mamdanis — become like the rubber in the old childhood taunt: They’re rubber, not glue, and whatever is said bounces off them and sticks to MAGAs, to conservatives, to Trump, to capitalists, to corporations, to Republicans, to Israel, to Christians, to the Constitution, to America, and on and on, to infinity. Beyond, even. On to the next political endeavor; perhaps a run for Congress; maybe a run for governor; potentially a run for the White House.

With a Democrat Party that’s filled with socialists, and a nation of Democrat voters who have zero understanding of, or concern for, American Exceptionalism, the political possibilities for these leftists are endless. They’re never-ending. And that’s because their redistribution message never changes; the divide-and-conquer narrative never shifts; it’s always false promise after false promise after false promise. It’s always concern for the poor; love for the downtrodden; anger at a system created by racists, misogynists, oligarchs, haters — followed by vows to fix the system, i.e., punish the racists, misogynists, oligarchs, haters.

Socialists may not be especially imaginative.

But then again, neither is the devil.

And more, much more, than that unite the two.
