OPINION:
Democrat strategist James Carville said on a recent “Politics War Room” podcast he co-hosts with Al Hunt that his fantasy is to see all those who’ve collaborated with President Donald Trump to be dressed in orange pajamas, have their heads shaven and then be force-marched down Pennsylvania Avenue in Washington, D.C., where the public can spit on them. His co-host Hunt said he didn’t disagree.
Carville may be 80 years old. But age is not an excuse. He epitomizes all that’s ugly, vicious and outright evil about today’s Democrats and the modern Democrat Party.
And you thought Jay Jones — attorney general-wannabe for Virginia, with his fantasy about murdering his political opponent and watching as his political opponent’s wife held her children as they died in her arms — was an anomaly. Nope. This is how Democrats roll.
They fantasize about killing, torturing, humiliating, injuring Republicans and, most particularly, MAGA conservatives and, mostest of most especially, President Trump.
Truly evil.
Carville said on the podcast that “people that unnecessarily bent a knee to this guy” — meaning, Trump — ought to be made examples of as a way of “discouraging[ing] future collaborators.” He was speaking of universities that accepted Team Trump’s anti-DEI, anti-Woke, anti-discrimination education reforms without enough fight, and of companies and corporations that have similarly shed their woke ways. To Carville, they’re “collaborators” in an unjust system, and require punishment for working with Trump.
“You know what we do with collaborators? I think the corporations — my fantasy dream is that this nightmare ends in 2029 and I think we ought to have radical things,” Carville said, Mediate reported. “I think they all ought to have their heads shaven, they should be put in orange pajamas and they should be marched down Pennsylvania Avenue, and the public should be invited to spit on them. The universities, the corporations, the law firms, all of these collaborators should be shaved, pajamaed, and spit on.”
Hunt then asked, “Disney and Paramount?” — a reference to the recent $16 million settlement Paramount made with Trump. He also said, “Yeah, I don’t disagree.”
What is wrong with today’s Democrats?
After World War II, women in France, in Norway, in Belgium, in the Netherlands and elsewhere who were accused of collaboration with the Germans and Nazis were forcibly shaven and marched down the streets of their communities, where they were jeered, spit on and worse. Some, for instance, were stripped of their clothes; others were attacked and beaten; still others were forever shunned and sent wandering to find new homes. The abuse was grassroots; it didn’t come by way of court findings of these women’s supposed sympathizing. Rather, it was pure mob justice, driven by hate and revenge and in some instances, jealousy — and most egregiously not all the women caught in the “ugly carnival,” as it’s been dubbed, were even guilty of collaborating with Nazis. Some were innocent.
But even for the guilty, the vigilante measures were disgusting.
Even for the guilty, the public shaming was cruel and inhumane and despicable.
Everyone, after all, is entitled to certain basic human rights, including due process and consequences that meet the crime. Right? Apparently, not to Carville. Not to Hunt. Not to Jones.
Not so to today’s Democrats who spend their time fantasizing not about winning elections against Republicans, but about utterly destroying them, mind, body and soul.
