Think of a trap in which a monkey reaches through a small hole to grab a very enticing piece of fruit. The furry little hand goes through the hole fine, but once the fruit is grasped, the enlarged fist is too big to be retracted through the opening.

Now trapped, the monkey could drop the fruit and go free, but greed overrides the desire for self-preservation. For man, communism is that piece of fruit. The promise of endless “free stuff” is the lure that inevitably leads to the poverty and enslavement that is the hallmark of communism.

The irony is that while communism bills itself as an antidote to the avarice found in others, it attracts followers by stoking greed, envy and entitlement. Communism is nothing but the modern face of slavery, one where people put on their own chains because they are ignorant of history and have become too obtuse to know when they are being played.
