If you’ve been watching the late night talk shows, especially those on NBC and ABC, you’ve observed celebrity hosts acting out the well-known pathology of navel gazing at its zenith. Two of these hosts, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, recently appeared on each other’s pity parties so they could sympathize.

These guys make millions of dollars for exhibiting a one-way outlook on politics and demonstrating no compunction over their lack of thoughtfulness, gratitude or humor. Even David Letterman became infected with the idea that viewers were interested in his world-renowned insights to make us wiser human beings. (Not.)

Mercifully for late night viewers seeking a bit of laughter and relief from the humdrum of daily life, Messrs. Kimmel and Colbert will likely soon be assigned to a fringe channel where they can continue acting like they are intelligent and obsessed with a self-assumed responsibility to save us from our wayward ways. Good riddance, boys.
