The NFL is bringing Latin American flavor to the Nov. 16 game between the Washington Commanders and Miami Dolphins in Madrid.
The league announced Thursday that rappers Daddy Yankee and Bizarrap would headline the game’s halftime show.
Bizarrap, a native of Argentina, is among the most-streamed performers in the world. The four-time Latin Grammy winner has had three songs top the Global Chart.
Daddy Yankee, a Puerto Rican dubbed the King of Reggaeton, found international success with his 2004 song “Gasolina” and 2017’s “Despacito,” which was the most-watched YouTube video in history through 2020.
“Across performances at our international games, we’ve elevated Latin artists around the world — showcasing the significance and appeal of the genre globally,” Tim Tubito, the NFL’s senior director of global game presentation, said in a news release. “We’re thrilled to welcome BIZARRAP and Daddy Yankee to our first-ever game in Madrid and can’t wait for fans to witness history.”
The performing duo is expected to debut a new song, “Daddy Yankee: BZRP Music Sessions, Vol. 0/66,” during the NFL game.
“I feel so joyful about music and the amazing track we have created together — sharing it with fans around the world has already been so rewarding,” Daddy Yankee, born Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez, said. “Get ready Madrid, get ready NFL. We are going to have an amazing show!”
The game in Spain kicks off at 9:30 a.m. Eastern time.
