JERUSALEM — Zohran Mamdani won the New York City mayoral seat and within minutes, in his victory speech, set his sights on Donald Trump, telling the president, daring the president — telling all of America, really — to “turn the volume up.”

Mamdani said: “New York will remain a city of immigrants … powered by immigrants.”

He said: “So hear me President Trump when I say this: To get to any of us, you will have to get through all of us.”

These are the words of an antisemitic Marxist declaring war on the White House and on all those in America who brought Trump and the MAGA agenda into the White House.

And he’s only 34 years old.

Mamdani is a political figure who never should be — never should have been — in this country. The Founding Fathers gave us a land of freedom based on the ideal of individual rights and liberties coming from God, and on the concept that government is therefore subservient to the people — the humble protector of the God-given individual rights and liberties to the people. Mamdani is going to give the city of New York a place where individuals only have those rights his political machine deem them worthy to have; where liberties are gifts and favors to be awarded to those he chooses — and taken from those he despises; and where the fruits of one’s own labors are nonexistent because the collective takes priority and possessions are only to be possessed by those Mamdani selects.

Make way for the hell that’s about to become the Big Apple.

When it comes to examples of what America is not supposed to be, Mamdani will prove himself a remarkable exclamation point on history. He is a destroyer, and his smile will deceive many. It already has.

So how did he get there? How did America get here?

Mostly, because American Christianity has grown weak.

If God-given is the foundation of American Exceptionalism, and government-granted its opposite, then the root of socialism’s growth in this country is a weakened church. When Christians fail to engage, fail to speak out, fail to involve themselves in the matters of culture and politics — when Christianity becomes little more than a cross on a chain worn as a piece of jewelry — and when those who say they know the truth fail to stand tall and strong and loud and bold for the truth, then the stage upon which life plays is emptied of what is good, and room is created for what is not good to take over and take the lead.

And socialists are not good. They are liars who promise things they know they cannot deliver. Marxists and communists are all part of the same collectivist pot; they just achieve their tyrannical goals at a faster and slightly varied rate. They are also secularists and atheists and humanists who believe the government is and should be the sole provider for humanity, not God. They are the ultimate in government-granted; the enemies of God-given.

Mamdani, moreover, is an Islamic terror-sympathizing antisemite who was just pictured standing happily alongside Imam Siraj Wahhaj, deemed by federal prosecutors as an unindicted co-conspirator of the 1993 terror attack on the World Trade Center, and Jews in New York City ought to be concerned about their future.

More than that, all of America ought to be concerned that a man like Mamdani who never should be mayor is, in fact, being. He’s not just representative of the degradation of America’s political structure and constitutional system, and of the destruction of all that’s law and all that’s order. He’s representative of the inroads radical Islam is making in this country. Look to Europe for the chaos that brings. Look to the history of Islam for the darkness that spreads.

Christians, wake up.

Mamdani is here because the church is silent and afraid.

Mamdani has come because Christianity has gone.

In his victory speech, he also said, “If anyone can show a nation betrayed by Donald Trump how to defeat him, it is the city that gave rise to him. This is not only how we stop Trump. It’s how we stop the next one.”

Take Mamdani at his words. His goal is not New York City mayor. His goal is America. His goal is the West and all that is good.
