OPINION:
Apparently, no substantive action is being taken by Congress on the issues that caused the recent budget shutdown.
These politicians are on Thanksgiving break and will continue to be off for the month of December. Of course, they will prance back to Washington in January. They will then praise themselves for a week without doing anything legislatively significant before going on their January break.
In the meantime, precious time is being lost on these budget and continuing resolution issues. As always, they will wait until the extension deadline before focusing on these divisive issues. Their political drama will rear its ugly head as it did in October into November. The parties and their talking head so-called leaders will verbally attack and counterattack one another. Pejoratives will be thrown around and made the subject of the day by the mainstream leftist media.
Last-minute dramas allow these narcissists, both male and female, to showcase themselves to the American people. So this time, on Jan. 30, 2026, there’s a very high probability that they will again cast the government into an economic debacle involving disrupted air travel and supplemental nutrition benefits, government employee layoffs, and threats of payment cutoffs to military personnel.
Congress’ 535 do-nothing politicians have long shown themselves to be useless.
