OPINION:
According to Seth McLaughlin’s “Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene blames Epstein files for breakup with Trump” (Web. Nov. 16), Marjorie Taylor Greene believes the Republican Party, specifically President Trump and Republican leadership, has “drifted away from the America First agenda” and the voters who elected them.
Ms. Greene also said Republicans share the blame for the shutdown and higher prices for everything.
Before Ms. Greene continues her ill-advised attacks, she should consider the facts. The Democrats under President Biden imposed policies and regulations that just about destroyed the petroleum industry and drove prices for just about everything through the roof. These policies burdened citizens with excessive taxes, created 20% inflation in four years and allowed more than 10 million illegals to flood into our nation, drying up affordable housing.
They passed the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan Act in 2021 that was like pouring gasoline onto the inflationary fire. Democrats have also tried to sabotage Mr. Trump and the “America First” agenda at every turn, and they are solely responsible for the government shutdown and the pain it inflicted.
Mr. Trump has made tremendous progress in cleaning up this mess. He has managed to cut inflation in half, is deporting the worst of the worst, is restoring law and order, and has our military focused on the mission, not the distractions of diversity, equity and inclusion. He has issued record numbers of drilling permits, attracted trillions of dollars in investments and positioned America as the world leader in artificial intelligence.
Mr. Trump has brought peace to the Middle East, ended wars and eliminated the Iranian nuclear threat. These are all monumental and near-miraculous achievements that put our nation’s interests first.
It’s not clear what’s motivating Ms. Greene’s turncoat narcissistic behavior, but it needs to stop. If it doesn’t, it will likely disrupt the president’s momentum, turn the House and/or Senate over to the Democrats in the midterm elections and rob our nation of a meaningful final two years of the Trump administration.
Ironically, Ms. Greene has become a useful idiot of the left and there’s nothing “America First” about any of it.
