D.C. police said they have arrested and charged a 17-year-old in a shooting that left five people wounded last month at Howard University.

Metropolitan Police took Kaevaughn Dudley into custody on Friday. He is accused of opening fire on a group on the night of Oct. 24 during Howard’s homecoming weekend. Three men, a woman and a 13-year-old boy were wounded.

Investigators said they arrested two people at the scene. Both were charged with gun possession, but it was later determined that neither was the triggerman in the mass shooting.

According to court documents, detectives identified Mr. Dudley as a suspect by reviewing TikTok videos and messages and talking with school resource officers at the KIPP DC College Preparatory near Union Market.

The court filing says Mr. Dudley was arrested and charged with intending to distribute marijuana just days after the shooting, but he had not been linked to the shooting by then.

The suspect made his initial court appearance Saturday. He is being kept behind bars until his Dec. 18 court date.
