The pilot of a Delta Air Lines flight arriving from Paris had to abort the landing at Boston Logan International Airport and then circle back in order to avoid a plane taking off.

Air traffic controllers at the Boston airport ordered Delta Flight 263 to do a go-around maneuver at around 4:15 p.m. Thursday because Cape Air Flight 548 had previously been authorized by air traffic control to take off from an intersecting runway, the Federal Aviation Administration said.

The FAA did not say how close the two planes got to each other. The Delta pilot reacted to the order from air traffic control and said “that was close,” followed by a Cape Air pilot saying “yeah man, not cool,” according to LiveATC.net audio cited by WBZ-TV.

The Delta flight was originally slated to fly from Paris to John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York City, according to flight tracking website FlightAware. The flight was diverted to Boston due to bad weather in New York, Delta Air Lines told WCVB-TV.

After completing the go-around maneuver and circling back to Boston, Flight 263 and its 11 crew landed safely and the 284 passengers deplaned without further incident, Delta told WCVB-TV.
