OPINION:
As I read Andrew Napolitano’s recent op-ed, “The arrest of Judge Hannah Dugan and an assault on the separation of powers” (Web, April 30), one of my father’s favorite expressions came to mind: “It all depends on whose ox is being gored.”
Mr. Napolitano is concerned that we are witnessing an unprecedented assault on the separation of powers by the current administration’s attempt to intimidate judges with the arrest by the FBI last month of a federal judge. Yet Mr. Napolitano expresses no concern about the dozens of unelected judges who have been assuming the power of a duly elected president and the executive branch of government in exercising their constitutional duties.
It makes me wonder whether Mr. Napolitano’s former position as a judge is influencing his judgment.
