OPINION:
President Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” is a rational attempt to reverse former President Joe Biden’s catastrophic policies. It is an effort at securing our borders to keep our citizens and country safe, ending fraud, abuse and waste in government agencies and restoring our economic and military strength.
The bill is not perfect and will need some modifications. The Republicans who are opposed should recognize that like all broad comprehensive bills, it needs exemptions and a process in place to deal with unintended negative consequences. More importantly, there are times when more spending provides dividends that offer future benefits, including a massive debt reduction.
I hope the Republican members of Congress unite and pass a modified “big, beautiful bill” that serves our citizens by lowering taxes, making us energy independent, funding the military and border security and restoring equal justice for all and freedom of speech and religion.
