A new Economist/YouGov poll shows the Democrats’ favor with the people has fallen even more and now lags behind that of the Republicans by 5 percentage points.

It’s the agenda, stupid.

Democrat donors are starting to wake up and catch the whiff of failure, and rather than pour mo’ money, mo’ money, mo’ money into the party, they’re pulling back donations. Their message to Democrats is simple: Fix what ails, or the funding will stop.

“The challenges that Democrats are having right now, you can’t completely buy your way out of,” said one Democrat strategist, Joel Payne, to The Hill. “You can’t spend your way out of the type of political challenge that we’re in right now. It’s going to take more than spending and trying to overwhelm the other side with your bank account.”

His remarks come as the Economist/YouGov survey found 41 percent of Americans view Republicans favorably; 52 percent, unfavorably. Meanwhile, 36 percent of Americans view Democrats favorably; 57 percent, unfavorably.

And this downward spiral of Democrats’ favor with Americans has gone on for some time.

“Operatives and donors in the party say they’ve concluded their messaging and failures to connect with voters are the roots of their deeper issues,” The Hill wrote, in a piece headlined, “Democrats say their problems run much deeper than money.”

Ya think?

America is reeling from revelations of the Democrats’ cover-up of Joe Biden’s mental decline while president — a cover-up that went forth even as the nation, nay, the world, saw with its own eyes that the guy was struggling. Now the same people involved in the cover-up are telling us, hey, guess what, there was a cover-up — as if they’re now due a thanks from a supposedly fooled public.

The gaslighting is offensive. The Democrat Party’s habitual deceit is offensive. The Democrats’ lying friends in the media, and their sudden decision to watchdog a former president we all knew was mentally frazzled is offensive.

And all the other stuff that’s gone on with the Democrats in the four-plus years they lied about Biden is offensive: the LGBTQ nuttiness and evil that’s stripped children of their God-ordained sexes; the open border madness that’s left citizens to fend for theirselves against dangerous and violent illegals who’ve been coddled by Democrats; the ongoing refusal of leftists in the Democrat Party to accept that Donald Trump’s presidency and agenda is what the people want — a refusal that’s led to case after case of costly and time-consuming and wasteful lawfare, all aimed at destroying MAGA, and ultimately, destroying constitutional order.

These are sins of the Democrat Party.

These are the lies and deceits and attacks of the Democrat Party.

And they’re of no benefit to the average American citizen. They’re simply a way the Democrats seize and hold power, for their own selfish ambitions.

It’s the agenda, stupid.

Americans don’t want what the Democrats are selling.

“Why would I write a check when we’re losing everything? We’re losing the airwaves, we’re losing the tech battle, we’re losing the ground game,” one donor told The Hill. “[Democrats] have yet to prove that they have learned any real lessons yet. So either people start to wake up or we lose again.”

Either way, patriotic Americans win.

It’s a shame Democrats can’t take a look inward and see their radical agendas as the real turnoff for voters. It’s a shame they don’t pay attention to polls pointing to their weirdly obsessive support of transgenderism as a matter of reproach with most voters. It’s a shame Democrats only pay attention to principles and platforms when money is at stake.

But that’s just one more sign of the demise of the Democrat Party.

By and large, today’s Dems don’t care about the Constitution, the welfare of legal citizens, the economy, the border, parental rights and individual liberties. They only profess to care when the money dries up and their political positions are threatened. This is not a party of politicians who put the people first. And look at who they elevate: socialists like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Sen. Bernie Sanders. Antisemites like Rep. Ilhan Omar. Anti-Second Amendment activists like David Hogg. Elite leftists like Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and California Gov. Gavin Newsom. The party is not likely to change anytime soon.
