Atlanta Dream star Brittney Griner was not happy with the WNBA’s officials this weekend. The center paused a halftime interview to demand that the referees “be f——— better” during Saturday’s game against the Dallas Wings.

“Sorry y’all,” Griner told cameras after chastising the referees. The Dream went on to win the game 83-75.

The 33-year-old made headlines last week for appearing to criticize a call against Indiana Fever superstar Caitlin Clark during a game.

Griner wasn’t alone in her frustration. Fever coach Stephanie White drilled into officials following a controversial ending against the defending champion New York Liberty on Saturday.

Liberty star Natasha Cloud bumped Clark during the final possession of Saturday’s game, but the referees opted against blowing their whistles. The Fever ultimately lost 90-88.

“I thought she got fouled. I think it’s pretty egregious what’s been happening to us the last few games,” White said of Clark. “The disrespect right now for our team has been pretty unbelievable. So, it’s disappointing, you know, that it doesn’t go both ways, or it hasn’t gone both ways.”

The WNBA, like most major leagues, allows teams to send questionable calls to the league office for review.

“I don’t know if I have a feeling that the system works,” White said.

Clark declined to comment on the no-call, saying she needed to rewatch it.

The Fever return to action on Wednesday night against the Washington Mystics.
