If former President Biden could be characterized as a president whose day-to-day actions were a virtual mystery, I think it’s fair to say that President Trump nobody is a commander in chief whose movements pretty much everyone knows. What a dramatic difference in executive styles and sheer presence.

For much of Mr. Biden’s presidency, I didn’t know who was actually running things in the executive branch. I had a few ideas, and most of the people I suspected were remnants of the Obama’s administration (hence the idea the Biden presidency was really Barack Obama’s third term). Talk about a president in absentia.

In stark contrast, Mr. Trump is about the most hands-on, boots-on-the-ground president I have seen in decades. Whether you agree with what he’s proposing and doing, you must admit that Mr. Trump is making things happen on a near daily basis. It’s breathtaking. And from what I see, most Democrats are still trying to catch their breath so they can keep up, to say nothing of get ahead.

Although I don’t agree completely with everything Mr. Trump is doing, I would much rather have him (or someone like him) at the helm than someone who doesn’t even know where the helm is. Still, I’d like to see California Governir Gavin Newsom or former Vice President Kamala Harris operate at Mr. Trump’s pace while actually doing things (instead of just talking about them).
