OPINION:
In his recent column, “The Wilson-Biden coverups” (Web, May 19), Cal Thomas asks why the 25th Amendment wasn’t employed to remove President Biden from office. The answer is obvious: then Vice President Kamala Harris.
In addition to being noted for her meaningless garble of “word salads,” Ms. Harris as vice president was the equal of Mr. Biden’s incompetence as president. She had no idea of her role. Like Mr. Biden, Ms. Harris was a dud in office whom everyone knew wasn’t up to the job of acting president under the 25th Amendment. Not even close.
During the Wilson presidency, the 25th Amendment hadn’t been enacted, so we don’t know for sure how Wilson’s vice president, Thomas R. Marshal, would have viewed the prospect of becoming acting president under its provisions. But with the amendment now part of the Constitution but not executed, we Americans endured four years of Mr. Biden’s physical and mental unfitness to hold office.
Thankfully, since President Trump reentered the office as 47th president of the United States, he’s acted swiftly to clean up the mess left by Mr. Biden, the worst president we have ever had.
President Trump is performing as an undeniably strong leader. He may be well on his way to becoming our best president since the Founding Fathers’ era.
