The Washington Wizards and Capitals have entered the offseason, so the renovations at Capital One Arena are in full swing. Monumental Sports and Entertainment, which owns the teams, unveiled renderings of the arena’s shiny new luxury suites on Monday.

The $800 million project — which includes redesigned suites, new entrances and upgraded amenities for players — is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2026. The Wizards and Capitals will still play their home games at the arena next season, as construction will be concentrated in the summer.

The ritzy new suites include access to VIP entrances, private elevators, dedicated concierge teams and expanded parking options.

Monumental officials said they planned to increase the size of the suites by decreasing the amount available.

“We are completely reinventing what the premium experience looks like,” said Jim Van Stone, Monumental’s president of business operations. “We are recreating the entire facility from the ground up, including a full transformation of every suite, to deliver VIP fan experiences that are unmatched.”

Three levels of suites will be available, ranging from the 18-seat “Executive” offerings to the mid-tier “Signature” suites and the 500-square-foot “Founder” areas. Designers from Gensler said they incorporated the region’s character into the suites.

“We’re bringing a new level to Capital One Arena,” said Andrew Jacobs, a design director at Gensler. “Rethinking everything from the overall ambiance to the smallest touchpoints, including the finishes, furnishings, and even the small wares, to elevate the guest experience and set a new standard of the hospitality expectations within this world-class venue.”
