Antisemitic protests continue at Columbia University, revealing the school’s inability or unwillingness to stop such displays of bigotry and hatred (“Feds cancel $400 million in funding for Columbia University over antisemitism concerns,” Web, March 7). It was up to New York City Mayor Eric Adams and/or New York Gov. Kathy Hochul to stop this display of hatred. But neither one did anything.

It was President Donald Trump who acted, and decisively. The funding his administration pulled from Columbia is federal money. It was Trump’s State Department that revoked the first visa of a pro-Hamas foreign student. This individual no longer has the privilege of studying or even being in America.

I am glad the president is punishing wrongdoers; it will discourage future atrocious behavior. As the old adage goes: If you’re good to bad people, you end up being bad to good people.
