OPINION:
There’s the tale of Rep. Al Green, the Texas Democrat who was just booted from the floors of Congress and censured by the House for rudely interrupting and heckling President Donald Trump address on the state of the nation. There’s the video making social media rounds of congressional Democrats pretending to be some sort of video gaming heroines-of-the-people as they bounce and squat and punch air and call on watchers to “choose your fighter.” There’s the potty mouth lawmaker from Texas, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, dropping an f-bomb toward Elon Musk as she’s asked on video camera to respond to DOGE cuts. Her exact words? “F— off.” Nice. That ought to persuade the masses.
Those are this week’s Democrat Party antics.
More are sure to come.
But all Americans really want are political leaders who, well, for lack of a better word, lead.
It’s high time Democrats lose the theatrics and leave the circus acts behind and join the ranks of intelligently thinking politicians who are actually trying to do things that move the country forward and better enable the citizens — particularly the legal ones — to provide for their families’ futures. Americans don’t need videos of dancing Democrats. Americans need an economy that works within their wage levels; communities that are safe to walk — and safe for their children to walk; a federal government that isn’t stealing their tax dollars and sending the money to overseas spots to advance leftist, Marxist agendas that work against Western interests; an education system that actually educates, not sexually grooms or propagandizes; and a political class that recognizes the role of government is simply to protect the rights that individuals are granted at birth, by God, and as such, see their authorities as confined to securing the border, securing the nation, securing the fundamentals of the Constitution.
That’s a partial list.
But noticeably absent are f-bombs and cane-brandishing outbursts at the president of the United States.
“I just asked Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett if she had a message to Elon Musk,” Call To Activism wrote on “X” a few days ago. “Here was her answer: ‘F— off.’”
Do better, Democrats.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom has just broken with his party to proclaim that there’s something “deeply unfair” about males pretending to be females and infiltrating women’s sports. Whether he’s had a Jesus moment and come to the realization that transgenderism is also deeply wicked, deeply demonic and deeply destructive to children and society at-large — or whether he’s simply positioning to run for president in 2028 and is trying to get in line with the majority of America on LGBTQ radicalism is not so much the point as this: He’s recognizing a key ingredient of leadership is having a following to lead.
Anybody can declare themselves a leader.
The proof is in the following. If nobody’s following — then does that a leader make?
Screaming at the president from the House floor may generate headlines. Slinging swears as cameras roll may get some clicks. Ducking and dodging like a doofus on TikTok may make media waves. But it won’t win votes. It won’t win the hearts of Americans who have real problems they’d like their leaders to solve.
Democrats need to grow up and realize their jobs are not to entertain. They took an oath of office to uphold the Constitution, to fight enemies of the nation both foreign and domestic, and to fulfill the somber duties of their elected offices as best they could. Anything less is a waste of paycheck that Americans are providing. Anything less, and they should just stay home with their Saturday cartoons and leave the leadership of the nation to real leaders.
