Let’s step back and look at exactly what is happening in the Department of Government Efficiency. Elon Musk — not only the richest man on Earth, but also one of the most notable engineers — has volunteered himself and his time to help root out and eliminate fraud, waste and abuse in our government, an undertaking that has never before happened in our nearly 250-year history. (That’s right; I said volunteered. He’s not getting paid for any of this.)

Musk has brought with him about 100 mostly young, highly skilled people, and together they have worked seven days a week to help bring America back from the brink of financial ruin. What has been the reward? The entire mainstream media has acted in lockstep nearly every day to malign Musk and his intrepid staff, as have nearly all elected Democrats and many federal judges, who have battled him tooth and nail on each DOGE action.

The Tesla Company, Tesla dealerships and Tesla car owners — most of whom are on the left side of the political spectrum — have been viciously attacked by domestic terrorists. These criminals have been cheered on by the same Musk-hating mainstream media members, elected Democrats and federal judges.

As Musk said last week on Fox News, “If we were to approach this with the standard of making no mistakes at all, that would be like saying someone in baseball’s got to bat a thousand. That’s impossible. So when we do make mistakes, we correct them quickly and we move on.” That is exactly how Musk has built and grown his many hugely successful businesses; in fact, it’s how all successful private-sector businesses operate. It is way past time for the government to adopt the same mindset.
