Democrat Rep. Jasmine Crockett’s latest not-so-passive-rather-openly-aggressive advice to win against Republicans is to “punch” — to be “OK with punching” — except, of course, if your name is Sen. Ted Cruz, and then the strategy is to go even more violent.

“I mean, like, this dude has to be knocked over the head, like hard, right? Like, there is no niceties with him, like, at all. Like, you go clean off on him, right?” she said during an interview on NBC in Dallas.

Your tax dollars at work.

Whatever happened to the days when Democrats and Republicans differed on policy and means, but still fought side-by-side on American ideals? Democrats happened. In a word: Democrats.

Democrats have turned a corner on courteous discussion, jogged right by hearty debate and sped into the distance past passionate persuasion — only to charge headlong into a pile of Molotov cocktails they then light to hurl at Teslas. What the heck, Democrats? And when U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi announces these fire-throwing derelicts will be held to the full accountability of the law and face the full consequences for their criminal acts, it’s her remarks that ignite a media frenzy; not so much the destruction; not so much the calls for resistance against Elon Musk, against President Trump, against all things MAGA that are barely a blink from inciting violence. Not so much that — but her remarks.

“[Crockett[ is an elected public official and so she needs to tread very carefully because … we’re going to fight to protect all of the Tesla owners throughout this country,” Bondi said during a Fox Business interview.

Crockett, asked on MSNBC to respond, said this: “I have never promoted violence whatsoever. … Pam Bondi, if you have an issue with terrorism, maybe you should talk to your boss about locking back up those guys that he let out that participated in January 6.”

Oh, you mean the peaceful protesters who were swept up in a Democrat-driven fray to exert controls over the MAGAs of the nation?

If Democrats could only offer critically thought-out ideas that could benefit Americans and uphold American principles, then the political divisions in this country would not require so much police response. A “we the people” approach to governance begins from the premise of unity — it says that we’re all in this together; we all hold these truths to be self-evident; we all want America to be the best America can possibly be — the freest, the most prosperous, the most entrepreneurial, the leader of the world.

But it’s as if Democrats want to destroy all that’s great about America, and then build it up in a way that suits their own visions. Sadly, their own visions are more aligned with communism than a republic; they’re more advancing of collectivism than individualism.

Since the dawning of Trump, they’ve become intolerable because they’ve become intolerant. They can’t just push back against political ideas they detest; they have to push around the people, physically, violently, who hold the political ideas they detest.

They’re not so much “we the people” as “obey me, you stupid people.”

“Democrats’ silence is damning as leftist violence explodes,” the New York Post wrote just a few days ago.

Yes. Their silence speaks volumes. It screams contempt for America and more than that, for all the Americans who still believe in the traditional, constitutional, law-and-order design of America.

You know — the deplorables.

Politics in America has always been a fiery affair, with hot rhetoric and passionate speech flowing from both sides of the political aisles. But the idea of one party hating America — of a Democrat Party filled with members who seemingly hate anything that sniffs of constitutional, lawful, orderly or exceptional — well, that seems new. That seems a Barack Obama legacy that’s lingering.

That may sell well among the elites who gather over champagne and caviar to plan the lives of the 99 percent. But hating America won’t win elections for Democrats. Hating Trump won’t endear Democrats to voters. Hating MAGAs won’t win the day for Democrats.

It’s OK to hate the idea. Just don’t hate the country. Just don’t hate the person. That’s what “we the people” actually means.
