Who are the hostage negotiators President Trump chose and why did he pick them? Adam Boehler — whose nomination to serve as special presidential envoy for hostage affairs was rightly withdrawn earlier this month — called Hamas “nice guys.” Why would the negotiator for the hostages in Gaza compliment these barbarians? Fast forward a bit and now we have Trump special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff saying Hamas’ ideology is not extreme. Have these men been living in a cave or on another planet? I thought we got rid of the appeasers, like John Kerry and Antony Blinken, when we kicked the Democrats — who exuded weakness and accomplished nothing — out of the White House. I don’t understand President Trump’s choices here.

Speaking of the enemy in favorable terms does nothing except encourage the monsters to stand firm and not agree to anything. The useful idiots supporting this evil unfortunately succeed in keeping them front and center under a false narrative. I’m no diplomat, but even I know you have to walk softly and carry a big stick. That stick is the only language they understand.

Can anyone actually negotiate with them, and better yet, should they?
