OPINION:
Real education does matter, especially for disenfranchised children who have long been ignored by the political ruling class. As such, I am old enough to remember when teachers taught students math, English, foreign languages, science, how to write cursive, honest American history, and that they should be proud of our Founding Fathers and the republic they heroically created.
Today, of course, it seems that most of our “teachers” would rather focus on identity politics, microaggressions, assigning victimhood, smearing and canceling our Founding Fathers, and censoring students who dare to express an opinion contrary to any far-left narrative — all the while depriving the students most in need of the educational tools that will help them break out of the cycle of poverty.
Leaving that dangerous and destructive reality aside, I am also old enough to remember that we did have respect for our teachers back in the day as we did our parents, police officers, firefighters, people in authority and the elderly.
That said, I will also acknowledge that back then, if certain students found out that their regular teacher was out sick for the day, spitballs would fly and the troublemakers would rule. You know exactly what is happening with the Democrats in Congress today. However, it’s much worse because the Democrats’ mass chaos can severely damage our nation.
How did this come about? It was easy to predict for those paying attention.
The physically weak and mentally suspect President Biden is gone. Vice President Kamala Harris and her bizarre choice for a running mate, Tim Walz, got crushed in November by President Trump. Former President Barack Obama has lost much of his luster and is fading fast. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, 84, refuses to resign even though she is no longer speaker of the House. House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries is listened to by no one. The same goes for Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer.
In the absence of the “regular teacher” behind the desk, the class troublemakers in the Democratic Party have gone wild. Nature does hate a vacuum, and noting that vacuum of leadership, congressional self-promoters such as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Rep. Jasmine Crockett, Rep. Eric Swalwell, Rep. Ayanna Pressley and Sen. Adam B. Schiff have made everything about them and their desperate need for attention.
Worse than that for the Democratic Party is the now constant sniping by these class troublemakers at what passes for the “leadership” in the Democratic Party. When they are not sprinting to get before a camera to attack their own, they are doing so to scream out what seems to be the entirety of the platform of the Democratic Party now. That is: “We hate President Trump and Elon Musk and disagree with every policy they advance. No matter how great those policies are for the American people. Other than that, we have absolutely nothing of substance to add to the debate.”
Because of these class troublemakers and the general woke nonsense being pushed out incessantly, two recent national polls report that the Democratic Party’s favorability ratings have fallen to catastrophic lows. An NBC News survey revealed jaw-dropping bad news for the Democrats. Only 27% of registered voters hold a positive view of the Democratic Party — 27%!
That number is so low and dropping because more and more Americans, including voters in the communities the Democrats have counted on for decades, have come to realize that the Democrats now stand for nothing. Other than opposing Messrs. Trump and Musk in the most unhinged of ways, they have nothing of value to offer Americans in search of solutions.
The Democrats in Congress now have no “regular teacher” or leadership authority. Because of that, the class troublemakers have hijacked the party and made everything about themselves and their woke agenda and nothing about the problems impacting the quality of life of the working class in our nation.
As such, in just a matter of weeks, these class troublemakers have managed to trash and crash their party and its once-respected brand.
