OPINION:
A CNN survey released over the weekend finds that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the face that “best reflects” the “core values” of the Democrat Party.
That explains everything.
If a socialist with limited critical thinking abilities is the best the Democrats have to offer — it explains why America’s public education, funded as it is by far-leftist unions, has become a training ground for anti-American, anti-Western beliefs, and why graduates of K-12 go on to storm-troop college campuses and focus their energies not on learning, but rather waging antisemitic battles against Jews in Israel.
It explains why the woke Diversity, Equity, Inclusion programs that President Trump tried to executively order away have lingered in some circles, in the leftist circles, in the swirling angry circles of socialist society — populated by people who can’t fathom the idea of working for what one achieves or of the notion of sacrificing to realize one’s goals, and instead believe government knows best; and instead demand government intervene and redistribute at will.
It explains why Democrats won’t give up the transgender madness, and instead decry any and all efforts to protect females from having their teeth smashed by volleyballs — or fists — slung by men pretending to be the fairer sex during athletic competitions.
It explains why the Democrats won’t come an inch Republicans’ way to control the border, but instead cheer wildly while wayward judges call on the president to turn around planes and return deported drug dealers and gang members and sex traffickers to the American communities they terrorized.
It explains why Democrats spend all their time crying about Trump and
Ocasio-Cortez is a socialist, and therefore unfit to represent the Constitution; and therefore unfit to represent the American people who are supposedly guaranteed by founding governing documents a limited form of government. Her entire oath of office is a lie. Her pledge to defend the Constitution is a deception. Yet there she is — an elected member of Congress; a representative of the people; but because of her socialist beliefs, a Congresswoman In Name Only.
The Democrats love her.
They’ve long hungered for her to be positioned as the face of the party.
“DNC chair: Ocasio-Cortez represents the ‘future of our party,’” The Hill wrote in July of 2018, quoting then-Democratic National Committee Chair Tom Perez.
“DNC’s Tom Perez Embraces Democratic Socialist,” Business Insider wrote in July of 2018.
“Anti-Israel, pro-BDS candidates are the future in a radicalized Democratic Party,” one opinion contributor wrote in The Hill in August of 2018.
Dream imagined.
Dream fulfilled.
“In a CNN survey,” The Hill just reported, “Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents were asked to name one person when ‘thinking about Democratic leaders today’ who ‘best reflects the core values of the Democratic Party.’”
Fully 10 percent of respondents named Ocasio-Cortez. Second most named? Kamala Harris, the former vice president and failed presidential candidate. Following Harris were Sen. Bernie Sanders with 8 percent and then Democrat Rep. Hakeem Jeffries with 6 percent. Barack Obama and f-bomb-throwing Rep. Jasmine Crockett tied with 4 percent.
They’re all socialists, though not all openly embrace the “S” label.
But if you’re looking for reasons for the Democrat Party’s downfall and loss of favor at the polls and dwindling support among Americans, look no further than the faces of the party. Socialism is by nature un-American. Americans have responded in kind.
“Democrats’ approval ratings sink to historic lows amid infighting: poll,” the New York Post wrote.
“CNN Poll: Democratic Party’s favorability drops to a record low,” CNN wrote.
Get rid of the socialists. Get rid of the America-hating, swearing-like-sailor socialists. Then and only then will the Democrats win back favor with the American voters.
