Singer Billy Joel has had to reschedule several upcoming tour dates so he can recover from a medical condition.
“While I regret postponing any shows, my health must come first. I look forward to getting back on stage and sharing the joy of live music with our amazing fans. Thank you for your understanding,” Mr. Joel said on Instagram. He did not explain the medical condition.
His tour is being paused for four months as Mr. Joel, 75, recovers from recent surgery and undergoes physical therapy. He is expected to make a full recovery.
The tour is scheduled to resume on July 5 at Pittsburgh’s Acrisure Stadium. Tickets bought for the original tour dates will be valid for the new dates.
Mr. Joel’s three international solo shows scheduled in Toronto on Saturday, in Edinburgh on June 7 and in Liverpool on June 21 have been rescheduled for next year on March 14, June 6 and June 20, respectively.
His shows with Police frontman Sting scheduled in Syracuse, New York, on April 11, Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 10 and Salt Lake City on May 23 have been moved to next year on April 10, July 3 and May 22, respectively. Another show with Sting, scheduled in Milwaukee for April 26, has yet to be rescheduled.
Mr. Joel’s show with Fleetwood Mac star Stevie Nicks in Detroit, meanwhile, has been moved from March 29 to Nov. 15.
