“The Apprentice,” the business-centered reality TV show that President Trump hosted for a decade before he ran for president in 2015, will now be streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Amazon released the first season of the reality show Monday and will add the second through seventh seasons of “The Apprentice” weekly, according to Deadline.
Mr. Trump, whose catchphrase “You’re fired” on the show became famous, promoted the show anew on social media.
“Back by popular demand, for the first time in 20 years, the Emmy nominated ORIGINAL APPRENTICE STARRING PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP is back!! Watch Season 1 of The Apprentice, now streaming on Prime Video. New seasons every Monday! #TheApprentice,” he wrote on his Truth Social platform Monday.
The show aired on NBC starting in 2004 and was produced by creator Mark Burnett during his time at MGM. Amazon, founded by Executive Chairman Jeff Bezos, acquired the rights to the show when it bought MGM in 2022, according to Deadline.
The show previously aired on Fox’s free ad-supported streaming service Tubi from 2019 until early in 2021.
“’The Apprentice’ is one of the best shows that I ever produced. The charismatic onscreen presence of President Donald J. Trump made it a bona fide hit,” Mr. Burnett said, according to Variety.
Mr. Burnett, who left MGM in 2022, was appointed a special envoy to his native United Kingdom by Mr. Trump in December.
“Mark brings a unique blend of diplomatic acumen and international recognition to this important role. Mark is known for creating and producing some of the biggest shows in Television History, including ’Survivor,’ ’Shark Tank,’ ’The Voice’ and, most notably, ’The Apprentice.’ … Mark will work to enhance diplomatic relations, focusing on areas of mutual interest, including trade, investment opportunities, and cultural exchanges,” Mr. Trump wrote on Truth Social at the time.
