Israel has cut electricity to its plants in Gaza, the latest move in a war the IDF has waged against Hamas since the terror group abducted, murdered and tortured hundreds of Israelis in an unprovoked attack on October 7, 2023.
“I just signed an order for the immediate halt of electricity to the Gaza Strip,” Israel’s energy minister Eli Cohen said over the weekend, CNN reported. “[We will] operate all of the tools that are at our disposal to ensure the return of all the hostages.”
Dozens of hostages are still being held by Hamas in Gaza, most of whom the IDF believe are dead.
Meanwhile, Israelis have largely returned to the border communities they fled in the months after October 7 — though as Yael Eckstein, president of International Fellowship of Christians and Jews noted, schools in some northern areas of Israel have just reopened in this month.
