The Washington Commanders, looking to address some of their offensive line problems, traded a package of draft picks to the Houston Texans Monday for perennial Pro Bowl left tackle Laremy Tunsil.

Washington will send a 2025 third-round pick to Houston along with second and fourth-round picks next year. The Texans will send a fourth-round pick with Tunsil to the Commanders. The deal will not become official until the NFL year begins on Wednesday afternoon.

Tunsil, 30, was named to five Pro Bowls during his six seasons in Houston. He protected quarterback C.J. Stroud’s blindside over the past two seasons. The Ole Miss product allowed just two sacks in the 2024 regular season. Pro Football Focus ranked him as the fourth-best left tackle in the league.

The former first-round pick will now be tasked with protecting Jayden Daniels’ blindside in Washington. The move will send ripples throughout the Commanders’ offensive line. Brandon Coleman, who started 12 games at left tackle as a rookie last year, could move down in the depth chart or kick inside to guard.
