OPINION:
I take exception to former President Joe Biden’s latest lie to the American people. The ex-commander in chief recently he went on television to tel everyone he was in total control of the use of his autopen during his presidency (“Biden denies autopen was used without his knowledge,” Web, June 5).
Mr. Biden’s statement was contradicted by Rep. James Comer, who said that there was questionable evidence to show that Mr. Biden’s underlings appeared to be using the device without his knowledge or authority.
According to reports, during a conversation last year with House Speaker Mike Johnson, Mr. Biden had no clue whether he’d signed a critical executive order. Mr. Johnson admitted he left the meeting fearing the nation was in “serious trouble.”
Mr. Biden insisted to the Louisiana lawmaker that he never issued the order to freeze new liquefied natural gas export permits — even though he had signed off on it less than a month before.
What irks me to no end is that when I submitted a request for a pardon for a friend who was clearly railroaded on hearsay with no physical evidence, my request was denied (after three long years). Yet Mr. Biden used his autopen to pardon an estimated 8,000 criminals — including murderers and other serious offenders. After three years of waiting to hear back my request was denied under Biden’s administration saying I could submit new evidence.
I am 99% sure the administration knew ample documentation was ignored in my friend’s case.
A forgery is committed when someone uses another person’s signature without his or her knowledge. In Mr. Biden’s case, he wasn’t cognitively aware that someone else was illegally acting on his behalf. These people should be brought to justice.
