Country singer LeAnn Rimes experienced a mouth-related mishap during a performance last week when a dental bridge fell out while she sang “One Way Ticket (Because I Can).”
Ms. Rimes was performing at the Skagit Casino Resort in Bow, Washington, Friday when the incident occurred.
“I feel something pop in my mouth, and if you’ve been around, you know I’ve had a lot of dental surgeries and I have a bridge in the front, and it fell out in the middle of my song last night,” Ms. Rimes said in a video on Instagram.
The singer said she briefly panicked, ran to the side of the stage and put the bridge back in and continued to perform. Eventually, Ms. Rimes admitted to those present what was going on.
“I had to get real with everybody and tell them exactly what was happening or else I would have had to walk offstage,” Ms. Rimes said in her video, adding that for the rest of the show she had to keep pushing her teeth in as she sang.
She also said that she never knew how many “F,” “Th” and “Sh” sounds were in her songs until the dental issue, especially in “Can’t Fight The Moonlight” — when Ms. Rimes sang that song Friday, her bridge fell back to the bottom of her mouth, she said.
“I don’t usually have firsts in my career, but that was a first and hopefully a last,” Ms. Rimes concluded.
