OPINION:
Plans for civil unrest in cities across the country to protest “authoritarianism” are really a protest against the rule of law and President Trump applying our laws equitably. But Democrats, who view the world through the lens of critical theory and identity politics, are unable to grasp that. Once again, they are beholden to a set of ideas that not only corrupts their understanding of justice, but ensures the unequal treatment of people — much like their policies did during their Jim Crow past. Today’s Democrats are a party that understands freedom to mean the absence of morality and liberty as the absence of law (depending, that is, on what group you belong to).
If you were so much as on the grounds of the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, there was no limit to what the Biden Justice Department would do to find and bring you to “justice.” Raise your voice at a school board meeting or attend Latin Mass and the FBI under Joe Biden placed you on a watch list. But if you’re in the country illegally and criminally engaged? Or you’re a member of Antifa or you’re a radicalized college student threatening fellow students from a disfavored group? The arc of justice, under the Democrats, would stretch and bend to the breaking point for you.
The threat to democracy comes not from finally having an administration in Washington that wants to restore justice to America. No; it comes from the disparate application of the law under Democrats and their push toward chaos and anarchy whenever they don’t get their way.
