OPINION:
New York City mayoral hopeful Zohran Mamdani, who’s a member of the Democrat Party and the Democrat Socialists of America, and whose family fled the tyranny of Idi Amin’s Uganda for a better life, a freer life, in America, celebrated Independence Day with a statement that called this country “beautiful,” but “unfinished.”
As Vice President J.D. Vance put it at a speech in California: “Who the hell does he think he is?”
That’s a very good question.
And the answer is this: He’s the shining new star of a Democrat Party that has leaned so far left that it’s become a shill for communists. When the socialists and Marxists and communists and radicalized leftists of America need a place of shelter; a voice to spread their rot; a party that represents their views — they don’t stick with their own. They vote Democrat.
They vote Democrat because this is what the Democrat Party has become: a haven for the haters of traditional America.
“America is beautiful, contradictory, unfinished. I am proud of our country even as we constantly strive to make it better,” Mamdani said.
And Vance responded with this: “There was no gratitude in those words. No sense of owing something to his land and the people who turned its wilderness into the most powerful nation on Earth. Who the hell does he think he is?”
When Mamdani’s father fled Uganda to avoid the ethnic cleansing that the dictator Amin was ordering, he didn’t take his family to Cuba, to Venezuela, to China, to Europe. He headed to America, land of the free, land of opportunity, land of God-given rights and liberties.
“And he dares on our 249th anniversary to congratulate it paying homage to its incompleteness and to its, as he calls it, contradiction?” Vance said.
It reminds of Michelle Obama’s February, 2008, speech to fellow Democrats, when she said, “And let me tell you something, for the first time in my adult life, I am proud of my country.”
Democrats only like America when they’re put in positions of power to completely change America’s foundations.
They’re like that girlfriend who professes total love and adoration for her boyfriend — and after they marry, goes about trying to change everything about him.
Socialists cannot truly love America — communists cannot truly respect America — Marxists cannot truly cherish America — because everything they stand for is counter to the foundations of America.
Americans are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, among which are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness; and in America, governments are only instituted to preserve and protect the God-given rights and liberties that are endowed each individual at birth.
Socialists, communists, Marxists — Mamdani and his ilk — don’t believe in the concept of individualism; don’t respect the principle of God-given; and rather believe the individual exists to serve the state interests; to provide the resources the government needs to distribute and redistribute at whim and will.
Democrats will never express gratitude for America until they’re able to utterly destroy all that’s special, unique and exceptional about America.
