Veteran pass rusher Von Miller is signing with the Commanders, the eight-time Pro Bowler wrote on social media on Wednesday night.
Salary details were not immediately available, but the contract is reportedly a one-year deal.
“DC… What’s good?” Miller posted on X with an automated image of himself in a No. 24 Commanders uniform.

The 36-year-old provides an immediate upgrade at a clear area of need for coach Dan Quinn’s defense. Though the Commanders added defensive linemen Deatrich Wise and Javon Kinlaw in free agency, neither of them provides the same pass-rushing presence on the outside of the line.
Dante Fowler, who led the Commanders in sacks last season, signed with the rival Cowboys in free agency.
Miller, 36, is not the same player who was a seven-time All-Pro during his 10 years with the Denver Broncos. He was traded to the Los Angeles Rams during the 2021 season and was a key player in their Super Bowl win.
The edge rusher spent the last three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, posting 14 total sacks across 36 games.
The Texas A&M product became a situational player over the last two seasons, focusing on obvious passing downs for the Bills. He has not started a game since 2022.
Miller’s time in Buffalo was widely considered a disappointment after he signed a six-year, $120 million contract after winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams following the 2021 season.
He failed to record a sack in 2023, noting that an ACL injury hampered his performance.
The former Super Bowl MVP was suspended for four games last season following allegations that he assaulted his pregnant girlfriend in 2023. Miller denied the claims and turned himself in to police. The case was later closed and the charges were dropped.
“No charges were ever filed, and the case is closed. I’m able to just move forward and focus solely on football,” Miller told reporters during last summer’s training camp.
The No. 2 pick in the 2011 draft has recorded 129.5 sacks since debuting with the Broncos, more than any other active player.
