Washington Wizards guard Jordan Poole didn’t leave the Golden State Warriors on the friendliest of terms in 2023. A punch from teammate Draymond Green led to widespread rumors about locker room turmoil, resulting in a trade for Poole.

But after scoring 38 points in Washington’s 122-114 loss, Poole insisted there were no hard feelings.

Mostly.

“I love those guys over there,” Poole said. “I love most of those guys over there, really good group, really good staff.”

Green took the comments as a reference to his past qualms with the Michigan product.

“I really am sorry,” the Golden State power forward said, presumably referring to the punch that made national headlines in October 2022.

Green was not suspended by the league, but he took a voluntary leave of absence after the incident.

“I want to give Jordan some space, and then also take a few days and continue to work on myself,” he said at the time. “Take some time to let everything breathe.”

Poole has never publicly commented on the altercation.

The Wizards are a league-worst 6-34 this season as Poole has anchored a starting rotation alongside rookie Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George. They return to action on Sunday night in Sacramento against the Kings.
