OPINION:
As much of the U.S. has been dealing with a severe cold snap, here is something to consider. If those Americans battling frigid single-digit and below-zero numbers had only “green energy” to keep them warm and survive, countless would have perished. That is simply a fact of real-world life.
For years, President-elect Donald Trump has been speaking out about the real energy needs of a real world filled with real people. He does not rely on – nor believe in – far-left “experts” spewing statistics from computer models rigged to push a far-left narrative. No. Instead, he rightfully chooses to believe his “lying eyes” when it comes to the disastrous reality of “green energy.”
Why? For decades, Mr. Trump has succeeded in the real business world. While President Biden was spending more than 50 years as a professional politician and Vice President Kamala Harris was on various government payrolls for over 30 years, Mr. Trump was single-handedly building an iconic global business empire. A global business empire that relied on energy to not only exist but to employ hundreds of thousands of people.
Today, Mr. Trump calls out what he refers to as “The Green New Scam.” As he does, he reminds the American people and the world that just four short years ago, during the first Trump administration, America was “energy independent.” What happened to that? The nation-destroying policies of Biden-Harris, that’s what.
Fortunately, Mr. Trump, who succeeded in the real business world, knows that the United States still gets more than 85% of its energy from fossil fuels and nuclear power. The far-left pushed wind and solar production to less than 10%. Worse than that, they have to vampire off fossil fuels to even pretend they are viable.
Look, everyone would love to have the utopian dream of “green” sustainable energy powering our nation and the world forever. But it can’t. For now, it is a fantasy fostered by many on the left to not only create the largest Ponzi scheme in the history of the world but also as a way to divide and control people.
No matter if anyone likes it or not or wants to admit it or not, “Big Oil” does equal “Big Life.” Without fossil fuels, hundreds of millions of people across the planet would die. And that will be the reality for at least the next century or more.
With regard to “The Green New Scam,” Mr. Trump posted this on Truth Social: “Windmills are an economic and environmental disaster. I don’t want even one built during my administration. The thousands of dead and broken ones should be ripped down ASAP. Most expensive energy only works with massive government subsidies, which we will no longer pay for!”
Mr. Trump could not be more correct regarding “massive government subsidies.” Again, “green” energy does not exist unless it can vampire off fossil fuels and the American taxpayer. Over the last two decades, “green” energy has been subsidized by approximately $500 billion of your tax dollars. A recent report from the Cato Institute finds the green energy subsidies – mostly created by Biden policies such as the so-called Inflation Reduction Act — will cost U.S. taxpayers as much as $1.8 trillion over the next decade. For those not great at math like me, that’s almost two thousand billion dollars.
And what’s the “inside joke” in the “renewable green energy lobby” about all of these subsidies? They were supposed to be “temporary” until “green” energy could get on its feet and prove itself “sustainable.” No ripped-off American is laughing at any of this.
Fortunately, they soon will be able to at least smile again regarding our energy policies. It has been reported that one of Mr. Trump’s first moves will be the creation of a “National Energy Council” overseeing all U.S. oil, natural gas and electric power policies. A council headed up by two highly experienced leaders appointed by Mr. Trump: Gov. Doug Burgum, his nominee for interior secretary and Chris Wright, his nominee as energy secretary.
A new sheriff is riding into town on Jan. 20. A sheriff who believes in “America First.” And to make America “first,” we need to make America energy dominant again.
That is about to happen thanks to the real-world business experience and continual successes of Mr. Trump.
