OPINION:
Democratic strategist James Carville is revealing just how lost and confused he is with regard to, well, everything that President Trump and his administration are doing (you know, those things the majority of Americans say want done).
Speaking about the protests against Trump, Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency, Carville said recently on MSNBC: “The question is, how should Democratic politicians respond to this? And I think what they should do is, what we call in rural America, play possum. Just let it go. Don’t get in the way of it, or as we like to say, don’t just stand there, do nothing … let this germinate.”
He went on to say that the “freight train is moving.” There may be a freight train moving, but it’s not the one Carville thinks. It’s another one, and it’s coming from the opposite direction.
Carville’s possum remark reminds me of the time last year when Carville confidently predicted a Kamala Harris presidential victory, and he gave three reasons to support his confidence — all of which were wrong. He capped his prediction by saying, “It’s going to be OK.”
Ironically, he was right on that score — but not where the Democrats are concerned. I almost feel sorry for the man.
