Oh, the weeping, wailing, crocodile tears and gnashing of teeth by the hard left. The open borders crowd is apoplectic because the federal government has proposed enforcing the law.

Kudos to Attorney General Pam Bondi on her position. Also, thank you for coming out of the gate hot and ordering the defunding of sanctuary cities, counties and states. Taxpayers across the country have continued to subsidize these jurisdictions that insist on giving primacy to illegal aliens over their own citizens.

Tucson Mayor Regina Romero has joined Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs in vowing to obstruct the enforcement of federal border laws. Leftie leaders across the country have also promised to prevent the removal of violent criminals from their communities.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy admitted in an interview last week that he and his wife were harboring an illegal alien in their home. At least he’s putting his money where his mouth is. He was daring federal officers to do something about it: “Good luck to the feds coming in to try to get her,” the daring Democrat said.

Well, it turns out that he was trying to sound tough. It seems Mr. Murphy is a beta male, after all. Like for so many others on the left, the truth is difficult. Mr. Murphy’s spokesperson said, “No one’s ever lived in the home” under the circumstances that the governor described.

Having an attorney general who will enforce the law means we will return to the rule of law. Ultimately, the rule of law is one of the gears necessary to make a Republican form of government run efficiently, protecting the rights and freedoms of its citizens.

We saw that the Biden government insisted on ignoring federal law. The result was that millions upon millions of illegal aliens rushed into the country, many with malevolent intentions. President Biden and Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas ignore that law and openly violated it.

Because of the Biden-Mayorkas insistence on open borders, hundreds of thousands of Americans died from fentanyl poisoning. Hundreds of thousands were victims of crimes such as ID theft, assault, kidnapping, rape and murder.

The Trump administration is doing exactly what candidate Donald Trump promised: He is enforcing the law. The freak-out, the meltdown, the crazy clown show from the left is in high gear.

Yet, we still see strange contradictions in the rule of law. In one of the longest-standing misinterpretations of the U.S. Constitution and Supreme Court rulings, the left argues for birthright citizenship. This is another incentive to enter the U.S. illegally. The misinterpretation would have you believe that maternity tourism, or even illegal entrants to the United States, can have a baby here. That child will be the only family member who is a United States citizen. By the child’s citizenship, hundreds within the lines of consanguinity can legally enter the U.S. when they otherwise would have to wait in line.

As one of the few nations of the world that currently, and wrongly, accept birthright citizenship, the United States has witnessed a proliferation of illegal aliens coming specifically to give birth in the United States.

Adding insult to injury, a federal court in Maryland, which will one day soon be overturned by the U.S. Supreme Court, granted a stay against enforcement of the Trump executive order ending birthright citizenship.

We anticipated that leftist jurists would so rule, but the real rub is that five pregnant illegal alien women brought the case. Hard to see most nations of the world granting the right to prosecute a civil case demanding constitutional protections when the people asserting rights acknowledge that they are illegally in the country.

There’s much work to do.
