OPINION:
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to social media to mock border enforcer Tom Homan after he suggested she may be impeding law and order by coaching illegals how to avoid deportation, and in response to his caveat that she may be “in trouble now,” she wrote, “MaYbe shE’s goiNg to be in TroUble nOw.”
Here’s a woman who could benefit from eating more fish.
Known more for her shrill antics and spotlight-grabbing hyperbole than her intellectual prowess, Ocasio-Cortez, serving in the shadows of this determined President Donald Trump administration, is facing a tough couple-few years. Her once-domineering media presence is being overwhelmed by Team Trumpsters, whose flurry of activity is based not on photo-ops and faked outrage but on actual, genuine, real, authentic — well, action.
Trump is doing stuff, not just crying in front of microphones.
Homan is arresting illegals; DOGE chief Elon Musk is cutting waste; Attorney General Pam Bondi is suing leftists who refuse to enforce border laws; Secretary of State Marco Rubio is securing the release of overseas American prisoners. Trump is doing even more stuff.
“Trump launches plan to target countries with ‘reciprocal’ tariffs,” BBC wrote.
“Trump signs executive order banning trans women from women’t sports,” NBC News wrote.
“Trump targets Antti-Christian bias with newly proposed White House Faith Office,” Fox News wrote.
“Trump Withdraws U.S. from World Health Organization,” The New York Times wrote.
Bucket, meet drop.
Activist judges in the courts have swung into high gear to put stops to some of Trump’s agenda — DOGE, transgenderism, birthright citizenship, for example. Over 40 suits have already been filed — and predictably enough, right on cue, Democrats are already slinging around their favorite anti-MAGA word, “impeach! Impeach! Impeach!”
But Team Trump is not going quietly. They’re prepared; they’ve been prepared for some time; Trump entered office swinging, surrounded by similarly swinging patriots with deep understanding of how leftists in politics and media work. If education and awareness are the first steps of effective fighting, this White House is filled with the doctorate degreed. Democrats, on the other hand, are left to elementary school devices — like taking to social media and writing, “MaYbe shE’s goiNG to be in TroUble nOw.” In crayon.
They’re also throwing Hail Mary’s at every leftist judge in every leftist district they can find. Good luck with ‘dat, Dems.
“Trump and allies ramp up attacks on judges, courts as agenda hits legal roadblocks,” ABC News wrote.
“What happens if Trump starts ignoring court rulings? We break it down,” NPR wrote.
On that last: You mean like when Joe Biden, while president, ignored courts that told him he couldn’t take tax dollars from hard-working Americans and give them to sleaze ball socialists to pay off their student loans? It wasn’t just one court that told Biden ‘no.’
From SCOTUSblog in June of 2023: “Supreme Court strikes down Biden student-loan forgiveness program.”
If it first you don’t succeed, try, try again.
Biden needed the votes. So he tried, tried again.
From the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators in October of 2024: “A 24-Hour Judicial Whiplash Leaves the Biden Administration’s Debt Cancellation Plans Frozen in their Tracks.” NASFAA continued: “Biden’s student loan forgiveness efforts were once again blocked by a federal judge … following another court’s early morning decision that would have enabled the administration to move forward with its plans.”
There’s ignoring court warnings — and then there’s ignoring activist court warnings. And swamp defenders like NPR only report critically on the kind that do damage to the Democrats and their agendas. As if Trump wasn’t prepared for all this, though.
“President Trump is certainly being aggressive in terms of flexing executive power and not at all surprised that these [actions] are being challenged,” said John Malcolm, vice president of the Institute for Constitutional Government at the Heritage Foundation, to Fox News.
The takeaway?
Homan on Ocasio-Cortez’s aid-to-illegals, The Hill wrote: “If that impeding our law enforcement efforts? And if so, what are we going to do about it? Is she crossing the line? So I’m working with the Department of Justice and finding out. Where is that line that they cross? So, maybe AOC’s going to be in trouble now.”
Ocasio-Cortez on social media on Homan’s remarks: “MaYbe shE’s goiNg to be in TroUble nOw. Maybe [Homan] can learn to read. The Constitution would be a good place to start.”
Then she stuck out her tongue, scrunched her face and put her hands over her ears and shook her head madly left to right.
The takeaway is the adults are in the room; the adults are back in charge. All the Ocasio-Cortez-like squad socialists can go home. Their 15 minutes of fame has come to an end. Their failed leftist agendas have been smashed by the hammer of MAGA. And they’re rapidly driving into a dark morass of irrelevancy and obscurity. That’s the takeaway.
