Merry Christmas. Happy Hanukkah. But careful: Don’t say that too loudly around certain Muslim communities.

The radicalized elements of the Islamic faith might get angry and go on a killing spree.

Tolerance is not so much the way of many followers of Islam as head-chopping and machete-slashing and mass shooting in the streets. Who are they chopping and slashing and shooting? Those deemed infidels, or, that is to say, in other words — those who aren’t followers of Islam.

The First Amendment just ain’t their friend.

That may seem outrageously offensive. But it may also be realistically life-saving. Truth is a helpful thing when waging war. And as Islam has made clear in recent times: We indeed are at war.

On one side stands Allah and his radical followers. On the other, Israel, America, the West, Western civilization and all that’s sane and good and pure and lovely and, well, living.

“The world watched in horror as a Hanukkah event in Bondi Beach, Australia, was attacked and seven people were murdered by suspects associated with the Muslim Brotherhood,” Alex McFarland Ministries wrote in a release.

“Mass shooting at Sydney’s Bondi Beach was ‘inspired by Islamic State,’ Australia’s police boss says,” The Associated Press wrote.

It’s all part and parcel of the radical Islamic plot to take over and destroy the world. Its faith adherents say as much; it’s not guesswork.

“Muslim Brotherhood’s 100-year plan to undermine US democracy: report,” NewsNation wrote.

“Islamists are trying to destroy the United States, according to a 200-page, yearlong report by the Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy,” NewsNation wrote.

That was around the time Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas declared both the Muslim Brotherhood and the Council on American Islamic Relations, or CAIR, terror organizations. My, the condemnations flowed. But Abbott has got it right.

For much of the Islam-believing world, there is no such thing as coexistence with other religions and nonreligious societies.

“Either Islam will remain or jahiliyyah [secular civilization]. Islam cannot accept or agree to a situation which is half-Islam and half-jahiliyyah,” said Sayyid Qutb, a Muslim Brotherhood intellectual, according to Alex McFarland Ministries.

Note the either-or.

The latter selection brings violence, mayhem, death.

“Five arrested over plot to attack German Christmas market,” the BBC wrote this month.

“ISIS Condemnation of Christmas Threatens Celebrations in Europe,” the Middle East Forum wrote.

“Islamic Terrorists Have a Favorite Target in Europe — Their Latest Christmas Plot Exposed,” CBN wrote.

“Australia, France and Germany have now all cancelled their usual New Year’s celebrations because of Islamic terrorism,” Newsmax wrote in one headline.

“Party’s over, Paris: Fearful French cancel NYE concert on Champs-Elysees as migrant violence grows,” the New York Post wrote.

And not just any “migrant violence.” Specifically, Muslim migrant violence.

“It’s obvious that this is the result of massive unvetted Muslim immigration into Europe,” said Daniel Di Martino, an immigration fellow at the Manhattan Institute, in the New York Post piece.

He went on to say, “Western Europe has had a terrorism problem for many years now, and that has been exacerbated because of unvetted Islamic immigration as a result of the refugee crisis of over a decade ago.”

But call it what it is and watch as the outcry from Islam apologists grows loud.

Thing is, a war can’t be won if the enemy can’t be named.

And while there may be many, many Muslims and many, many of the Islamic faith who are disgusted by violence and who see themselves and their religion as peaceful and loving — the world can’t help but notice how terrorists are predominantly Islamic; how terror groups fight for Allah; how the Muslim holy book, as taught by many of the Muslim faith, name all those outside the Islamic faith as infidels worthy of death; and how Islam, even in its most docile form, does not recognize and support the same individual rights Americans and other free societies cherish. Women’s rights? LGBTQ rights?

If Islam is to be compatible with America, then it must bow its beliefs to the Constitution.

And if Islam wants to shed its perception as a cultish purveyor of death — then its believers need to stop killing in the name of its god. It really is that simple.
