I echo the calls for Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Martin Makary to be fired for not having completed the safety review of the abortion pill in a timely manner (“‘Unacceptable’: Republicans frustrated with FDA chief Makary’s lack of answers on abortion pill,” Web, Dec. 16).

Although we should not be surprised that Washington is being inefficient, this one is different in that, in each passing moment, innocent, unborn babies are being murdered by the pill and their mothers are being injured, hospitalized or even dying. The abortion pill is deadly to babies and harmful to women and should be pulled from the market immediately.

Obviously, the FDA review of the pill is not an Operation Warp Speed. It’s pitiful how the COVID-19 vaccine got quickly implemented when Washington thought lives were at risk. That’s not the case when it comes to protecting babies and their mothers. How sad and disgusting!
