The announcement of Donald Trump Jr. and Palm Beach socialite Bettina Anderson’s engagement rang through the White House walls at a recent holiday party.
President Trump made the announcement, as seen in a video posted to social media by conservative activist Laura Loomer.
“Not often I’m at a loss for words, because we usually do the ranting and raving really well, but this is a little different,” President Trump’s eldest son said during a White House holiday party Monday.
The first son thanked Ms. Anderson for “that one word: yes.”
“That’s a big win for the end of the year,” he added.
At the party, Ms. Anderson thanked the president and first lady Melania Trump for their hospitality.
“This has really been the most unforgettable weekend of my life, and I get to marry the love of my life, and I feel just like the luckiest girl in the world,” she said.
Ms. Anderson is the daughter of the late philanthropist Harry Loy Anderson Jr., formerly the youngest bank president in America.
Ms. Anderson describes herself on her Instagram biography as “just your typical stay at home mom … only I don’t do household chores…or have a husband … or have kids..”
The two have been reportedly dating since last summer.
Their relationship was the subject of speculation last December after Kimberly Guilfoyle and Mr. Trump seemingly ended their engagement.
The Daily Mail released photos of Mr. Trump and Ms. Anderson holding hands in Palm Beach hours before Ms. Guilfoyle was named as the president’s choice to be ambassador to Greece.
She was sworn into the position in September and dispatched to her post in Athens in November.
This is Mr. Trump’s third engagement.
His first was with American model Vanessa Trump, proposing in 2004, and marrying at Mar-a-Lago in 2005. They have five children: Kai, 18, Donald III, 16, Tristan, 14, Spencer, 13, and Chloe, 11. The two were married for 12 years before she filed for divorce in 2018.
She has been dating pro golfer Tiger Woods since earlier this year.
In 2018, Mr. Trump, 47, reportedly began dating Ms. Guilfoyle, then a Fox News host, before getting engaged in 2020. She led the fundraising division of the Trump 2020 presidential campaign, cementing herself as a formidable figure in his campaign rallies, riling up the crowd with fiery speeches.
Despite never officially announcing their split, Ms. Anderson was seen sitting behind the engaged couple at the Republican National Convention in July 2024.
